04 / A place in East Texas

This is
Mosley Ranch.

Near Crockett, Texas.
Where the days are measured a little differently.

The view from here

An old windmill.
An endless horizon.

Mosley Ranch sits near Crockett, in the rolling country of East Texas. Beyond the fence line, the pasture opens to a sky that never quite looks the same twice.

The old windmill has had the best seat in the house for years. SkyCam begins with a simple idea: share that view. The color before sunrise. The weather rolling in from the west. The few quiet minutes when the whole place turns gold.

“Some views are too good to keep to yourself.”

A thoughtful presence

Open skies.
Private ground.

The camera belongs to the landscape. The ranch remains a ranch. These principles guide the proposed installation.

01 / THE FRAME

The sky comes first.

Views composed around the sky and distant horizon. Camera framing will keep private spaces out of the picture.

02 / THE QUIET

Let the place be.

A silent viewing experience, with no ranch audio. An unobtrusive installation designed around the windmill, the weather, and the life already happening here.

03 / THE CONNECTION

Close, from anywhere.

A simple view for a phone, a tablet, or a screen at home. The proposed relay keeps public viewers off the ranch’s own network.

A few things to know

Good questions.
Straight answers.

A beautiful idea, with a considered plan behind it.

Is the camera running yet?
This is the ranch preview, built around photographs from the Mosley Ranch collection. The SkyCam page is ready for east and west camera connections.
What will the installation look like?
The proposed setup pairs east- and west-facing weatherproof cameras with solar power and a cellular connection. Camera positions, power, signal and privacy framing will be confirmed at the ranch before installation.
What happens after sunset?
For now, the photographic archive is here any time you want to return. The installation concept includes keeping the day’s best light, so there is always something worth watching.
Will there be timelapses and storm clips?
Daily sunrise and sunset timelapses, a year of sunsets, and automatically captured storm moments are part of the concept. Today’s photo sequences offer a taste of that experience. Automatic recording and publishing still need the camera and capture service.
Can I keep or share a photograph?
Yes. Open a photograph in Field Notes and choose Save photo. The supplied collection is offered for personal use with a mention of Mosley Ranch SkyCam. For print, broadcast or advertising, contact license@mosleycam.com.
Where do the weather and sun times come from?
Sunrise, sunset and golden hour are calculated for the ranch’s approximate location. Weather is forecast-model data for the Crockett area from Open-Meteo, with a timestamp when available. It is not a reading from a weather station at the ranch.

Good company, thoughtfully chosen

A few local names.
A shared horizon.

The vision is simple: a handful of local partners, quietly supporting a view people love coming back to. Ranch supply, land, and storm-season partners are welcome to start the conversation.
